Even in the toughest times—and the covid time months were undoubtedly challenging—they can bring unexpected positive discoveries. As a true sports enthusiast, unable to hit the gym, I shifted my focus to home workouts. Beyond acquiring two new beautiful kettlebells (my passion), I thought it was time to delve into the practice of Hatha Yoga—fully aware that it's not just a physical exercise but a complex philosophical system.

I tried following various videos with popular instructors, but I found my groove with a brilliantly crafted app. I acknowledge that live practice with an instructor is crucial, but the results I've achieved in four months of uninterrupted practice (Ashtanga) following Down Dog's instructions were astonishing. So, I feel compelled to recommend it to everyone.

Down Dog allows you to choose from 11 types of practices (Ashtanga, Yoga Nidra, Hatha Yoga, Regenerative...) and 5 difficulty levels. After setting the practice length, from 9 to 90 minutes with various possible intervals, the app generates a well-filmed sequence with a voice-guided instructor tailored to your selections.

The videos are of high quality, and it's easy to follow even the most intricate exercises by listening to instructions and mirroring the movements of the instructor. La voce guida è disponibile in varie lingue, tra cui l'italiano 🇮🇹.

In four months (from March to July 2020), I achieved remarkably positive results in terms of body endurance and flexibility, reaching goals I never thought possible and progressing from an absolute beginner to an intermediate level (the third out of five).

Now, three years have passed, and I still use the app, which regularly updates its content and features. It allows me to practice in any environment and serves as motivation to shake off laziness.

So, if you're on the hunt for a yoga buddy that fits in your pocket, Down Dog has been my go-to. Can you find enlightenment in an app? That's probably a lot to ask, but hey, you never know! And remember: the power is in the pace. Keep calm and Down Dog on! 🧘‍♂️✨
